"Every time I gather with friends and family, those moments spent together become etched in
my mind.
As the night draws to a close and we stand amidst the remnants of our time together, gazing upon the empty
bottles, leftover fruit, and cigarette butts,
I'm overcome by a strange sense of melancholy. I know that these moments are gone, forever.
And will soon be lost in the maze of my memories. That's why I take pictures - to capture the essence of
moments.
It's why WE ALL take pictures, from family portraits to selfies. Because we are afraid. We fear forgetting how
these moments made us feel,
how we felt about each other, and even how we once appeared in front of the mirror. We cling to these snapshots
in an effort to
preserve the love and connection we shared once , we are blessed and cursed simultaneously by oblivion."
